ALGIERS (WiMAX Day). The incumbent telecom operator in Algeria, Algérie Télécom, has released an international tender to supply equipment to its WiMAX network. Sources say that the public operator is working with Galaxia Telecom to eventually deploy the network, and that Galaxia has committed to invest USD 40 million in the project. Algérie Télécom has tested WiMAX in several Algerian cities since last year, working with different partners.
