SAN FRANCISCO (WiMAX Day). At the Intel Developer Forum this week, a number of top computer manufacturers have announced support for Intel’s new WiMAX/WiFi Link 5050 module. According to David (Dadi) Perlmutter, executive vice president and general manager of Intel’s Mobility Group, Acer, Asus, Lenovo, Panasonic, and Toshiba will each include the module in future laptops.
In particular, Toshiba said that it would “combine Intel’s mobile quad-core processors and WiMAX broadband support into one product, launching notebooks equipped with both before the end of 2008.”
