LIMA (WiMAX Day). The  Agencia de Promoción de la Inversión Privada (ProInversión) in Peru has confirmed that on October 24, 2008, it will auction two licenses for 2.6 GHz spectrum for use with WiMAX. The agency noted that one part of the spectrum will be available for coverage in the areas of Lima, Callao, Trujilo and Lambayeque, and the other will cover the rest of the country. A ProInversión press release notes that bidders must supply pre-qualification documents before September 16. The selection of pre-qualified bidders will announced on September 23, and final auction documents will be available on October 10.
