KUALA LUMPUR (WiMAX Day). In Malaysia, YTL E-Solutions Bhd announced that it will launch its WiMAX services by the end of August. YTL is one of four companies that hold licenses for 2.3 GHz WiMAX spectrum in Malaysia, and which are contractually required to launch their networks this month.

YTL announced in June that it entered into a strategic agreement with the Xohm business unit of Sprint Nextel for the rollout of the YTL network.  At the time, YTL E-Solutions executive chairman and managing director Tan Sri Francis Yeoh Sock Ping said that the strategic partnership with Xohm would help YTL to deploy its network with greater speed.
