BANGKOK (WiMAX Day). The leading telecommunications company in Thailand, TT&T, announced that it has chosen Cisco to help it deploy a WiMAX network in Thailand at the Mae Fah Luang University. According to a Cisco press release, rollout of the network is expected to be completed in September. TT&T is deploying the network on behalf of the university, which has a license to operate WiMAX spectrum. The network will allow “staff and students in Mae Fah Luang University will be able to enjoy a richer educational environment that will fully employ voice, video, data and mobility services over the WiMAX network,” said Dr. Tatchapol Poshyanonoda, managing director of Cisco Thailand.
