LONDON (WiMAX Day). NEC Corporation announced today that it has received certification by the WiMAX Forum for its base station and PC card. The certification for products compatible with Mobile WiMAX face a rigourous testing process to ensure adherence with the IEEE 802.16e standard and interoperability with other products. “Certification of this key NEC portfolio component validates the company’s long term commitment to WiMAX and its larger role in smoothly delivering mobile and wireless data networks on a global scale,” said Dr. Nobuhiro Endo, Associate Senior Vice President of NEC.
